The Rebelettes Take On The WIDA Falkirk Feis

The Rebelettes On Tour At WIDA Falkirk Feis 2026

We took some Rebelettes to the WIDA Falkirk feis to gain some dance experience and hopefully progress through their grades. Zoe, Jess and of course Phoebe braved the high winds and the 4:30 start to get us to the feis on time.

Rebelette Zoe was up first and danced in the under 8 beginner and primary grades competitions before taking on the under 8 Premiership championship for the first time. She danced like a girl possessed in the grades and is now an Intermediate grade dancer for her favourite dance - Light Jig. Her Premiership wasn't bad either as she placed 3rd over all. An absolutely outstanding performance for a dancer who only learned her Primary Reel in its entirety a week earlier.

The firecracker that is Rebelette Jess was dancing in her Beginner grades and was hoping to progress to Primary. She danced beautifully, with grace, speed and newly found determination and won the Reel and the Single Jig and is now Primary in those dances. What an achievement as she was dancing in an age group with competitors up to 12 years older than her. A remarkable and well deserved victory. And then came her Premiership... Again dancing in an age group comprising of older dancers she danced her heart out and flew from one side of the stage to the other with a fury we've not seen before which helped her to a podium finish of 2nd. Jess the 'firecracker' was truly on fire.

Our choreographer and semi-retired Phoebe waited until the end of the evening to wow us with her unforgettable talent and done what she does best. She won a grade or two and danced in the under 21 Open championship for a wee bit of fun and placed a respectable 3rd along side dancers who were about to head off to the WIDA World Championships in the following weeks.
